“This year’s Pride Run sponsors are helping thousands of LGBTQ+ people and allies take up space together — openly and joyfully — in the heart of New York City,” said Ryan Hallett, President of Front Runners New York. “That visibility has always mattered, but especially now, when LGBTQ+ people are once again being told, in too many places and too many ways, that our lives, our identities, and our belonging are open to debate. We are grateful to ATHLOS, Boxers, Citizens, HSS, Lifeway, New Balance, Peloton, and Volvo for supporting a race that celebrates our community while generating meaningful support for Housing Works and the New Yorkers who rely on its care, housing, and advocacy.”
Beginning this year, the race is formally named the Front Runners New York LGBTQ+ Pride Run™, adding “Q+” to reflect the full breadth of the community it celebrates and the club’s belief that Pride is strongest when everyone moves forward together. The updated race logo incorporates the Progress Pride flag, carrying that commitment forward.
The Pride Run was first held in Central Park in 1982, establishing an enduring partnership among Front Runners New York, New York Road Runners, and the City of New York. Since then, it has grown into a marquee event of NYC Pride weekend, raising more than $300,000 for LGBTQ+ nonprofits. In 2019, the race made history by setting the Guinness World Record for the largest pride charity run, with more than 10,200 finishers.
“On race morning, the strength of our community is everywhere — in every runner, every volunteer, every cheer zone, and every person who joins us in Central Park,” said J Solle, 2026 Front Runners New York LGBTQ+ Pride Run™ 4M Director. “We’re grateful for all our sponsors and partners who show up for this community year in and year out. Every participant and every sponsor helps carry that energy into race day and beyond by supporting Front Runners New York and Housing Works and its lifesaving work in our community.”
Born out of the AIDS crisis in New York City, Housing Works is a healing community that fights for inclusive care, social justice, and an end to homelessness. Founded in 1990 as the housing committee of ACT UP, the organization is now a leading provider of integrated healthcare, supportive housing, wraparound services, and advocacy for low-income and marginalized New Yorkers affected by HIV/AIDS and other chronic illnesses.
This year, more than 20 Housing Works board members, staff, and clients will participate in the Pride Run as part of the organization’s team. Although the race is sold out, a limited number of charity bibs remain available to runners who commit to raising at least $500 in support of Front Runners New York and Housing Works by June 26, 2026.
