1983 Pride Run Unedited Archival Footage
Gay Pride Run 1983 - The content is "raw" footage strung together by the filmmaker (Jim Hubbard) who was a member when he recorded the video. Jim presented a range of looks from almost normal to wildly abstract.
Digital transfer is made possible by a grant from the Al Larvick Conservation Fund.

Another notable special project was "To Russia With Love" (2014) which drew attention to the state-sponsored human rights abuses to the Russian LGBT community, created by Du Ping Luo.
During the one-month period around the 2014 Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia, FRNY members drew attention to these abuses and showed support for the Russian LGBT community by running the distance between New York City and Moscow. During that month, 268 runners, walkers and swimmers logged 13,376 miles--more than three times the distance between those two cities. 129 of these athletes were non-FRNY members who joined in this show of support.
To Russia With Love
This initiative was a partnership between FRNY and "It Gets Better" (IGB in 2010). The video looked to communicate directly with gay youth and it sought to encourage and empower them not to despair. The message was to encourage them to hang in there because "it gets better." FRNY and IGB created a video where several members of the club spoke personally and passionately about how their lives improved once they left their teenage years and moved into adulthood, aiming to provide hope to LGBT youth battling homophobia. The "It Gets Better" project continues today at itgetsbetter.org

Everybody’s Welcome: New Balance Collaboration
Two videos created in a partnership with New Balance and FRNY.
The film tells the story of the historic 40-year-old Front Runners New York LGBT Pride Run® and features Urie Dvorozniak, a New Yorker and non-binary unemployed college graduate longing for community and personal healing as they work to embrace their identity, build confidence and re-imagine their potential, all illustrating the importance of being able to compete as ourselves. New Balance is a proud supporter of Front Runners New York (FRNY) a running club for people who identify as (LGBTQ+) and those who are allies.
The second video traces Gilbert Gaona’s journey to community and belonging through Front Runners New York, at the time, the largest LGBTQ+ running club in the U.S. and possibly the world that started in 1979. FRNY hosts the LGBTQ Pride Run in NYC.
Strides of Pride: LGBTQ+ Inclusion in Running
FRNY partnered with The American LGBTQ+ Museum to present a panel on the history of queer inclusion in running leading up to the 2023 TCS NYC Marathon. Panelists included: AC Dumlao (Chief of Staff at Athlete Ally), Giovanna Fischer (Runner with Capri Collective and Black Roses NYC) Zackary Harris (Chair of Front Runners New York Trans & Non-Binary Committee), Ana Maria Aguero Jahannes (Artist), and J Solle (Race Director of the FRNY LGBT Pride Run®).
