Gay Games Participation Fund
We’re excited to hear you will be representing Front Runners New York at the 2026 Gay Games in Valencia! Any member of Front Runners New York who is registered or is planning to register for the 2026 Gay Games and competing in an event is eligible for funds to support their participation.
This year, FRNY has raised a total of $5,000 to go towards these Participation Fund Requests!

2026 Gay Games Participation Fund Guidelines
FRNY wants members to participate in club-supported activities regardless of financial ability. FRNY Gay Games funds are available to anyone who has been a member for at least 3 months as of the date of application. Please note that the 2026 Gay Games Participation Fund is independent of the club’s general Participation Fund, and so receiving Gay Games funds will not impact your eligibility or limits towards the general FRNY Participation Fund.
Due to funds being specifically earmarked to support athletes and the Gay Games, this will be a separate (but similar) system than the one utilized for general Participation Fund. If you would like to make a donation to support the Gay Games Participation Fund, you may do so here. For the 2026 Gay Games Participation Fund, members will apply using the process below:
The Gay Games Participation Fund application will open on MAY 1, 2026 and be promoted via the Gram and the Gay Games Newsletter.
Members will submit the application to the Participation Fund Committee. Members can apply for up to $500 in total funding towards participation in the 2026 Gay Games. The amount requested is NOT a guarantee of funds and members are encouraged to be detailed in their requests by including receipts towards event registration, travel, accommodation, and other expenses. The total funding allotted to the 2026 Gay Games Participation Funding is $5,000.
The application window will be open for approximately one month and close at 11:59PM on MONDAY, JUNE 1, 2026.
The applications will be submitted to the Participation Fund Committee and reviewed on a weekly rolling basis, as applications are received (similar to the process for the general Participation Fund.)
The amount awarded to each applicant will depend on the total amount of funds available. All approved participants will receive an equal distribution of available funds (as we review the applications each week), up to $500 per person.
Based on those recommendations, the Gay Games Participation Fund Committee will then award funds as per standard procedure (receipt submission and payment) with funds award notices going out no later than JUNE 15, 2026.
Should the $5,000 allotted for the 2026 Gay Games Participation Fund not be exhausted, members will have until SEPTEMBER 1, 2026 to submit receipts and receive reimbursement, though they are encouraged to submit as early as possible.
If any of the total $5,000 allotted for the 2026 Gay Games Participation Fund goes unrequested or unclaimed, those funds will be made available to other eligible members or earmarked for a future Gay Games participation fund at the discretion of the Participation Funds Committee and Gay Games Committees.
