Come on Fun Run!
Front Runners New York offers members, newcomers, and guests three weekly fun runs on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. The Tuesday evening fun run is held at Prospect Park in Brooklyn whereas the Wednesday evening and Saturday morning fun runs are held at Central Park in Manhattan.
At the beginning of every fun run, a short round of introductions are made and the leader makes sure newcomers/visitors know the park and have a buddy who will run their pace and distance. Runners of every pace and experience level are encouraged to come to all our fun runs. See below for details on each of the Fun Runs.
FRNY has outdoor coached workouts all year long, and occasional indoor coached workouts during the winter months. Workouts are held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Thursday mornings. Head Coach Mike Keohane and the assistant coaches design workouts for sprinters, mid-distance runners, and long distance runners. These workouts are designed to develop speed, endurance, and racing strategy. Runners of all levels can benefit from interval training, and all members of FRNY are invited to participate in our coached workouts.
As a vital part of the New York City racing community, Front Runners participates in races organized by New York Road Runners. With an eye toward meeting the needs of runners at every level, NYRR offers races at a wide array of distances -- everything from the Fifth Avenue Mile to the NYC Marathon and beyond (at 37.2 miles, the Knickerbocker 60K tops the marathon in distance). A majority of the races take place in Central Park, but races are held in all five of the city's boroughs.
Welcome to FRNY Multisport! We offer training and camaraderie whether you’re considering your first sprint triathlon or getting ready for your fifth Ironman. Our members also regularly participate in aquathlons and duathlons (and if you have no idea what those are, we’ll be happy to tell you).
The centerpiece of the program are our weekly coached swims on Monday nights. They’re open to all skills levels, from beginner to competitive, as long as you’re already comfortable swimming 50 yards with your face in the water, including in the deep end. In addition to the regular workouts, we also frequently offer a five-week beginners’ series and more advanced one-night skill clinics.
Front Runners New York also supports recreational walkers, runners that are taking it easy and injured runners walking their way back to health.
