Multisport Coordinators
After finishing his second Ironman during the summer of 2012, Ironman New York, Sean Gillick is looking forward to focusing on shorter distance triathlons in his sixth year of triathlon racing. Having joined Front Runners two years ago, Sean is excited to offer advice and support to members seeking to get more involved in multisport activities.
When Jeff Grossman joined Front Runners in 2011, the longest he had run was five miles, which he had done exactly twice. On his first fun run, he ran the entire loop of Central Park because he wasn’t sure where the transverses were. Since then, he has completed the club’s beginners’ clinic, two half-marathons, two sprint triathlons, and NYRR’s 9+1 program to qualify for the marathon this November. He is also looking forward to his first Olympic triathlon.
After a decade on the stage, Marcus Woollen became a theater marketing specialist… and after a decade behind a desk came many extra pounds. in 2010 ago Marcus began a journey towards fitness by biking to work. A year later he joined Front Runners right after the Pride Run and began running again. And in 2012 Marcus ran his first marathon in many years and completed his first triathlon.

Swimming Workouts
Our swim workouts are every Monday night from 8:00 to 9:00 p.m., coached by Kent Lau at the LIC YMCA. The address is 3223 Queens Blvd Long Island City, NY 11101
Swimmers must be comfortable breathing, swimming 50 yards continuously (two laps of a 25-yard pool) with their face in the water, and swimming in deep water.
Advance sign-up and prepayment are required. The sign-up sheet is posted every Tuesday morning at about 7:15 a.m. for the following Monday’s swim. Punch cards good for five swims can be purchased for $20 each.
Please bring goggles and a swim cap to each swim.

Cycling Workouts
During the winter months, we organize indoor spin classes and computrainer workouts. In summertime, join us for Thursday morning rides around Central Park. Email the Multisport Committee to join our mailing list and learn more about these workouts.
